What happens to SDO autoplay after a game update?

The client changes, autoplay stops, a patched build ships. Here is the actual sequence.

Updated

The short version

  • A game client update will normally stop autoplay from working until a patched build is released. This is expected, not a fault.
  • Patched builds are included in every HybridCheats subscription — there is no separate update charge.
  • Subscribers are notified when an update is needed, and the new build is downloaded from the member panel like any other.
  • HybridCheats has followed this cycle on the CIBMALL platform continuously since July 2016.

Why an update breaks it at all

The software works by attaching to the running game client and reading and driving parts of it. That attachment is written against a specific build of the client — where things are, how they are laid out, what the timing looks like. When the publisher ships an update, those details can move.

When they move, the software does not degrade gently; it stops. That is the normal and expected outcome of a client update, not evidence that something is wrong, and it is the same for every tool of this kind regardless of who makes it.

What happens next

Updates are monitored rather than waited on. When a client changes, the build is rebuilt against the new one and released, and subscribers are told that an update is needed. You download the new build from the member panel exactly the way you downloaded the first one.

How long that takes depends on how much moved. A routine content update is usually short work; a change to the parts of the client the software attaches to takes longer. What does not vary is that it gets done — that is the arrangement.

This is what the subscription is for

It is worth being explicit, because it is easy to read a subscription as renting a file. It is not. The file is the smallest part of what you are paying for. What you are actually buying is that somebody keeps the file working against a client that keeps changing, for as long as your subscription runs.

That is also why track record is the thing to weigh when choosing. A build that works today tells you very little. A publisher that has met every update on one platform since 2016 tells you what happens the next time the client moves — which is the only question that matters after the first month.

What to do on the day

If autoplay stops working right after a game update, nothing is broken on your side and there is nothing to reinstall or reconfigure. Check the member panel for a newer build, and check for a notification. If a patched build is not out yet, it is being worked on.

Reinstalling the old build, changing your hotkeys or reinstalling the game will not help, and it is worth not spending an evening on any of them.
